It's simple! As an organizer, you create a project, invite participants via email, and they each record their part using our browser-based recorder. Once everyone has contributed, we automatically mix the recordings together based on your chosen mode (overlapping for songs, sequential for messages). You can preview, adjust, and then send the final mix to your recipient.

No! Participants receive a magic link via email that lets them record directly in their browser without signing up. However, they can optionally create an account if they'd like to organize their own messages in the future.

Any device with a modern web browser and microphone will work - smartphones, tablets, laptops, or desktop computers. We support Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. No app download is required.

We use a karaoke-style lyric prompter that shows each participant exactly when to sing or speak. If you provide a backing track, participants can hear it while recording to stay perfectly in time. Our system also automatically adjusts for any slight timing differences.

As an organizer, you can adjust volume levels, timing, and apply audio effects (Pro feature). If a recording needs to be completely redone, you can reject it and ask the participant to record again.

For private messages, the recipient receives an email with a link to listen. They don't need an account. For public messages, you get a shareable link that anyone can access.

Yes! Both organizers and recipients can download the final mixed audio as an MP3 file to keep forever.

You control the timeline. There's no automatic deadline - you can wait as long as needed for all participants to record. You can also create and release a message with just the participants who have contributed, then create a new version later if more people want to join.

Absolutely. All recordings are stored securely and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Private messages are only accessible to the organizer and designated recipient. We never share or sell your data.

For private messages shared only with specific recipients, you can use any song you like. For public messages, please ensure you have the rights to any music or lyrics used, or stick to public domain songs like the traditional "Happy Birthday."

You can cancel anytime from your Settings page or through the Stripe billing portal. Your Pro features will remain active until the end of your current billing period. All your projects and recordings will remain accessible even after downgrading.

Public messages are collaborative recordings that anyone can discover and listen to in our gallery. When you create a public message, it can be browsed by category (birthday, wedding, team spirit, etc.), and after release, anyone can add their voice to it.

Private messages are only accessible to the organizer, invited participants, and the recipient.

Only if you make your message public. Public messages have an "Add Your Voice" button that lets anyone contribute. If you want to keep your message private, simply set the visibility to "Private" and only invited participants can record.

Yes! In the Release tab of your project, you can schedule the message to be released at a specific date and time. This is perfect for birthday surprises or coordinating releases across time zones. The recipient will receive the message at the scheduled time.

Participants can choose to receive notifications when:

• A new preview mix is ready to listen to
• The final message is released
• The recipient sends a thank you reply

Notification preferences can be managed from the recording page.

Yes! After receiving a message, recipients can send a thank you reply that all contributors will be notified about. This creates a lovely way to close the loop and let everyone know their contribution was appreciated.
